Highlife music then isn’t the same as now. New ones have been upgraded to another level – highlife legend Joe Osei

Ghanaian highlife composer, singer, and performer, Joe Osei, has given his opinion on the new highlife songs, stating that “the new highlife songs have changed during their era but have been modified to another level.”

Speaking to DjQwequ on Ahomka FM in Elmina, the “mip3 wo asem” crooner emphatically stated that the old highlife songs are always good, but the new ones have been modified and upgraded but can’t be compared to their era.

“The old highlife song isn’t the same as the new song now. They have improved it to the second level of how highlife songs should be”.

He added that the new artists have been able to make sure the highlife music isn’t dead and is still maintained to suit their audience now.

“Don’t forget that in their generation, they have to find a way to sustain the highlife music and make it good for the new generation, and “yes,”  they are doing justice to our highlife song.
