KEEA MP calls on government to fix Amisano caved-in bridge and many deplorable roads in the constituency

Samuel Atta Mills

The Member of Parliament for Komenda Edina Eguafo Abrem constituency, Hon. Samuel Atta Mills has called on government with immediate effect to fix most deplorable roads in the Municipality.

Below is his official release

Hon. Samuel Atta-Mills writes:

I am calling on the government to, as a matter of urgency, fix the Amisano caved-in bridge as well as many deplorable roads in the constituency. The good people of Amisano, Abee, Ntranoa, Koful, Simiw, Tsekweikrom, Ankaful Prisons complex, Ankaful Leprosarium Hospital, New Ebu, Ankaful Mental Hospital, and Ankaful deserve to have safe access roads of which this bridge is part. It is a major road that links the various communities to Elmina, the capital of the municipality.

The government’s failure to pay these contractors working on the various deplorable roads in the constituency has led to further degradation of the roads for example, Komenda junction-Komenda, Komenda College of Education inner roads, Komenda Secondary Technical School inner roads, Kissi-Bisease road, Ayensudo-Abayee road, and many other deplorable roads. Roads which are yet to be awarded to a contractor include Essaman-Bantuma road, Ayensudo-Brenu Akyinim road, Eguafo-Ponkrom, Eguafo-Breman, Saman Abotar park road, Kwameta road, Sefwi Awona road, Ntranoa-Elmina SSNIT road, Kwasiyeldum road, and many other similar deplorable roads.

I am therefore appealing to the Roads Minister and the government that Komenda Edina Eguafo Abrem is part of Ghana, and the constituents are also part of Ghanaians so, the Ministry should direct the Roads and Highways director to see to the release of funds for these contractors to move back to sites and award contracts on other deplorable roads for further works to begin.

“We need immediate commitment from the government”.

Thank you
