Moree Abangye Festival 2023: Hon. Catherine Afeku enstooled as traditional leader at Moree

Former Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Madam Catherine Ablema Afeku have been enstooled as traditional leaders at Moree in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese (AAK) Constituency in the Central Region.

Madam Catherine Afeku who once served as Member of Parliament for Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira Constituency in the Western Region has equally been enstooled as ‘Sompahemaa’ for the fishing community.

Enstoolment of these personalities were performed on Saturday at the community’s 2023 Abangye Festival grand durbar, celebrated on the theme “War Against Indiscipline: The Role Of The Citizenry.”

The enstooled party following her chieftaincy honour is expected to aid in the development of Moree with her able clout in the tourism and creative art industries.

Madam Catherine Afeku in her remarks promised to apply her knowledge acquired in the tourism sector for the development of Moree having assured citizenry of the community to connect both Egypt and Malta to Moree upon finding out these countries shares disparity with the fishing community

Regent of Moree, Nana Obokese Ampah l speaking at the festival uncovered that chiefs of Asebu are burnt on building a new community out of Africans across the world.

He then elaborated on the benefit tourism seeks to offer Moree, hence reason for honouring expertise of the sector to help develop the community with their influence.
